About Lauri Asbury

As a graduate from the University of Michigan with a BA in Political Science, I’ve always had a deep interest in politics, both domestic and international, and in serving my community. My husband of 27 years and I have two wonderful kids who have both graduated from Neenah High School and are currently attending the University of Wisconsin Madison and Michigan Tech in Houghton. My husband is a practicing physician and specializes in Interventional Radiology. We love Wisconsin and the Fox Cities and came here for the great quality of life.

A little about me; during my high school years, I enjoyed track & field, played on the volleyball team, and was part of the champion debate team debating “Technology”, which shows my age. I also worked extensively in food service and started my own house cleaning business. My parents and grandmother taught me the importance of hard work and commitment.

Throughout my college career at the University of Michigan, I worked as waitstaff and management at a successful restaurant, supporting myself through college. After college I worked as a Leasing Director and Retention Consultant at a 1,028 unit apartment community; as a Senior Account Executive at a marketing and advertising company; as Scheduler and Executive Assistant at a public relations firm in Washington DC.

After starting our family in 1999, we moved to Neenah in 2003 as it is a wonderful place to raise a family, and to live and work. We are blessed to spend time together as a family enjoying all that Neenah, the Fox Cities and our great state of Wisconsin have to offer.

I am a proud member of:

  • Wisconsin Association of School Boards Member, Level II
  • Board of Directors Member, Samaritan Counseling Center of the Fox Valley
  • Neenah Arts Council Member
  • Neenah-Menasha Emergency Society Sustaining Member
  • Tuesday Club of Neenah Member
  • Non-Profit Leadership Initiative Participant
  • St. Joseph’s Food Program Volunteer Member
